8th May, 2010: Eighth Palestinians in Europe Conference
Berlin, Tempodrom, Mockenstr., 10-25
"Return is Inevitable - Freedom for our Prisoners"
The Diaspora story of Palestinians in Europe exemplifies a very important part of the Palestinian People's experience, the experience of people who were expelled into camps in neighbouring countries and elsewhere in the world. These refugees form a keystone of the Palestinian cause. Unless this is addressed, finding a solution to the 'problem' of Israel-Palestine relations will be impossible.
The Palestinians in Europe Conferences send e a clear-cut message of determination to reach the ultimate goal of the Palestinian people -freedom, self-determination and emancipation from occupation.
The number of Palestinians in Germany is close to 100,000, the biggest single community outside Palestine itself. A great majority of them came from the refugee camps in the Arab countries, particularly Lebanon. 25,000 of them live in Berlin. The aim of the conference is to help to demonstrate the justice of the Palestinian cause, to tell a Palestinian story overshadowed by the Zionist story.
This conference will give a chance for Palestinians in Europe to express their views on all of the key issues regarding Palestine. Researchers specializing in the Palestinian cause, European politicians, journalists, thinkers and activists will participate in the event.
