At the recent Asia Europe People’s Forum in Brussels the Trans National Institute interviewed some civil society activists from across Asia, to find out more about the damaging impacts of free trade agreements on the everyday lives of people in their countries. TNI representatives talked to Elisha Kartini about land grabbing and forest destruction because of the palm oil industry in Indonesia, and Chang Tianle from China about the environmental problems caused by industrial, chemical-based agriculture, and her work to promote alternatives.
