May 6th: Democracy Village in London demands end to Afghan War
Spectre received this information from 'Democracy Village', a peace group establidhed on Parliament Square outside the UK's Houses of Parliament in London on 1st May "by a group of concerned citizens." These concerned citizens (actually they are subjects of Her Majesty, as the United Kingdom remains a medieval throwback, with neither constitution nor citizens, which may explain why the country is involved in a war opposed by the great majority of its population) say that "the primary aim of the Democracy Village is to represent the views of the people by demanding an end to the war in Afghanistan and the immediate withdrawal of UK armed forces from the country. This Thursday (6th May), we will be having a celebratory festival of peace at the Democracy Village and calling on the relevant adminstrative bodies to assist us with our peaceful demands. There will be live music, hot food, guerilla gardening, an open mic and much more (all ages are welcome). If you share the view that the time for peace is now, then vote with your feet and come to Parliament Square this Thursday(activities start at 12 Noon and will go on till late).
The Democracy Village is intended to continue until the demands of the concerned citizens are met. Everyone is welcome to join the Democracy Village at any time. Please bring a sleeping bag or a blanket and some warm clothing if you would like to stay. Please pass this message on to anyone who might be interested and spread the word.
Peace and love
