From Hendrik at SOA Watch, which campaigns for the closure of
the notorious School of the Americas, where the US military
trains torturers.
Dear Friends
We would like to ask those of your readers who live outside
the United States to get in touch with four United States Congressman
and urge them to take a stand against the SOA/WHISC. We believe
international pressure to be really helpful in the campaign
to shut this training camp for terrorists down for good.
Below are the following addresses: Joseph Biden-the chair of
the foreign relations committee in the Senate; his counterpart
in the House of Representatives, Henry Hide; and the chairs
of the armed services committee in the House, Bob Stump, and
in the Senate, Carl Levin. The thought behind targeting these
four is that letters from other countries might have a stronger
impact on members of the foreign relations committee. It is
very important, from a legislative standpoint, that we influence
the armed services committee. You can find talking points and
updated sample letters to Congress on our webpage at http://www.soaw.org/new/article.php?id=96
Thank you for your solidarity, your support and your work for
justice.
Hendrik
